They sort of strive constantly to discover the exact point at which sound resonates the clearest: in Glasgow using wind instruments (maybe a flute, a trombone) they’ll place sounds with great care into a calm and ordered hush, drawing you in, asking you to concentrate, to listen. Theirs is a music that doesn’t leap out for attention, but simply needs to exist in the world, kind of like it’s simply also present in our lives: you can choose to come to it, or not. We’ve set up a separate space at INSTAL so that Antoine, Radu and Manfred can present their work in a sympathetic setting, somewhere relaxed, informal; where you can choose to spend some time and also be present with their work.  They’ll perform there over the whole festival, play chess, have a chat, pull in some other musicians from the event to collaborate.  We won’t announce what’ll happen, just take it as read that something will always be going on.
